Met Ruth Elder in person for the 1st time this morning, 2 hrs before co-presenting the Wikidata Thesis Toolkit! Fortunately all our shared work this year stood us in good stead to adapt to some tech challenges & do a bit more of a double act than we’d planned–caught in this pic!

Delighted we can share our Wikidata thesis toolkit and hope it will help increase visibility and access to a wide range of thesis research. Just to clarify the 250% increase is in users referred from Wikipedia...not in total users.

Huge thanks to Tagishsimon for helping me with some SPARQL queries that had me flummoxed after multiple attempts over 48 hours! And for explaining them so that I've learnt more to help with the next queries I'll be trialling.

Mired in SPARQL complexity I turned to ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot to see if they could modify my working query to add the extra filter I want - 3 different results, but none of them work either! So it's back to manual brain power instead!

Definitely - Wikidata came up in the context of collections as data only yesterday! And shout out to Ruth Elder who co-wrote the toolkit with me!
