he’s gasping. “wait , you really mean that ? i can stay with you ? i’ve never been allowed to stay with you” he’s picking her up again , spinning her around. “this is so exciting !”

pouting. “not even a little bit of redecorating? i can make the place look super nice!” grinning happily , going back to kissing all over her face. yep , waaaayyy too much energy.

happy squeal !! he’s very happy. can she tell ? “it what ? oh , right” he chuckles , gently setting her down. “anyway . . about those cuddles-“

he was struggling to understand . . everything. everyone seemed so different, some people were even mean. he didn’t like it !! “uh yeah — i’m looking for a girl. she’s blonde.” very specific, ken.

“of course i’ve looked around” scoff , looking around. he saw a couple blondes passing by , but not her. he looked back to him. “barbie. her names barbie.”

blinking a bit. “yes. how did you know that ?” did he know this guy ? great , now he feels bad if he does because he doesn’t remember him ! “what’s a cosplayer ?”

“i’m pretty sure?” this man’s making him question things now ! looking around again then back at him. “uhhh — outside a building” again , very specific.

he nods , starting to walk with him. “thanks—“ looking down to his outfit , then looking to him. “your choice in clothing is . . uhm. well. yeah..” he has no words for it. he wasn’t used to it.

“you’re welcome” he wasn’t good with the sarcasm stuff . . . he then nods. “we like to match. it’s what couples do , right ? they match clothes ? it’s supposed to be cute. i mean , i think it’s cute. she’s cute, and everything she wears is y’know , cute”

“you don’t ?” damn . . they were still gonna do it though ! “of course i love her. i mean , i was made for her” small shrug , then gasping. “you don’t love anyone ?”

“there’s someone” he says , shrugging. “there’s always someone. someone that was made for you. you haven’t found them yet but you will.“ he was almost tempted to stay and help him find his person but he couldn’t. he had to find barbie and get home.

“a ken ? oh right , there are a lot of us” he chuckles , then blinks a bit. “it’s a long story. i don’t exactly have much time to explain. i just need to find barbie before mattel does”

“it’s not , why do you think mattel is looking for us ?” looking over to him. “really ? that’s awesome. ken’s are superior”

“action figures ?..” he mumbles to himself , confused but trying not to get sidetracked. “ken should be fine , as long as he has his barbie” which he does so yeah , he’s perfect.

“yeah.. here and barbieland are very different. and i don’t mean the good different. i don’t like it here.” which is why he wanted to find barbie as soon as possible so they could leave.

“she was trying to find the kid that owns the doll of her in the real world. a.k.a here.” now he’s starting to wonder about the person who owned him …

“uh well . . that’s actually the reason we’re here. something happened with barbie’s owner and now we gotta find them , blah blah blah , and save barbieland” he still had no idea what he’s supposed to do.

blinking a bit. “me ? oh no , my owner clearly loves me and spends every second with me. i’ve never had a crisis or a malfunction” about that — your owner is next to you !!

“that’d be great ! but . .” he sighs , shaking his head. “i have to focus on barbie , as much as i want to meet the person that owns me. we need to get back as soon as possible too , before anything else happens to barbieland” thinking .. “you’d love it there”

“i’m a doll in a human world and you’re worried about that ?” he chuckled, looking around as they walked. there were so many blondes but again , no barbie. it was very frustrating.
