The UN Human Rights Council, governments decided to start drafting a UN convention on the rights of older persons! A resolution was adopted by consensus creating a new intergovernmental working group to elaborate a new legally binding instrument on the rights of older persons.

We did it! Had an amazing few weeks in Geneva coordinating Global Alliance advocacy at the UN Human Rights Council. Incredible to see such strong cross-regional support from govts to start work on an international treaty on older persons' rights! Proud to work with such an inspiring global team 🌍❤️
