Whaddayaknow Ofwat's big plan to stop WCs paying dividends. Turns out WC's licences already have a clause making it illegal to pay dividends if it would "Impair the ability of the company to finance the regulated water and sewerage business." Who knew? Clearly not Ofwat.

Totally agree with quote. We are fighting the removal of Important Hedgerows. “Promises to plant new trees are no substitute for looking after those that already exist. Where developers present plans that are harmful to nature, councils must push back and demand alternatives”

This doesn't look right at all. Deloitte appears to have used England's housing stock but the *UK* population. If we use the English population for 2021 (56.5m), dwellings per 1k citizens=440. So England is mid-table. Oops

It’s essential to campaign, to respond to the consultations, write letters and raise awareness. It’s that or see the local destruction unfold as the carbon emissions escalate threatening all life on Earth Stop the #Ecocide #NoNewRoads Support Transport Action Network

But what does this loss look like? My attempt to visualise it: each bird represents 1 million pairs - many more (57) fade out than are replaced (21). Thanks to all BTO #volunteers whose observations provide evidence for action👉strategy.bto.org #ornithology #conservation

A steep decrease in the number of Nightjar fledglings per nest between the 1970s & 2000s has not been fully reversed by the slight improvement in the last ten years. Conserving suitable open ground habitat such as lowland heathland is critical. #SpringWatch BBC Springwatch

Things seem to have hotted up since the approval of the A303 Stonehenge road scheme in July. This is a road scheme condemned by UNESCO, recommended for refusal by the Government’s own planning inspectors in 2020, and halted by the High Court in 2021! transportactionnetwork.org.uk/transport-in-t…

To repeat. The 3 largest house builders in the UK are over £500,000,000 richer since Michael Gove binned pollution rules on Tuesday morning. Guess who provides 20% of Tory party funding? Not that any of those things are interconnected you'll understand. housingtoday.co.uk/news/a-fifth-o…
