Thanks to all who attended the #REEngage19 event today. Brilliant discussions - I feel tremendously excited about the readiness of our universities to respond to the challenges ahead.

I was being shown around primary school with my parents as a 4 year old before starting reception class, at the end the teacher asked if I had any questions (about going to school). I responded, 'how do you spell 'soap'?'

I think I have just done my last ever Researchfish submission. (This is going to be disappointing if I've counted wrong and need to do next year too.)

Really please that the Research England funding allocations are published today. Members of the Psychology, Psychiatry, and Neuroscience communities will be interested in para 14 of the circular letter: re.ukri.org/news-events-pu…

Can anybody advise on this, please? Can an employer withdraw pay when working from home, if schools close? My wife's employer, which has home working policies, has told everyone that they can work from home, but not if schools close. If children are home, they will not be paid.

Our Expanding Excellence in England (E3) fund helps small, outstanding research units and departments at English higher education providers to thrive. Ahead of the next round of E3 funding, we reflect on past successes and future plans: orlo.uk/mPOE5

We're looking for panel members for a new round of E3 funding from Research England - great opportunity to get involved in supporting small, excellent research units in England

Geoff Hill (@geowonks) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Incredibly grateful to help steer a 2nd round of E3 over the line. More money is available & over a longer period. & on top of the previous E3 aims we are putting more emphasis on place and inclusive research cultures that supports early career research ukri.org/blog/research-…

Are you in a research unit doing exciting & imaginative research, but operating at a limited scale? The E3 fund could help your unit to grow. We're looking to fund capacity-building projects at English HE providers that will have local or regional impact. orlo.uk/vE7qZ

Just to put this back out there and ask for all to share - now that the details of a 2nd round of E3 has been announced we hope that colleagues across the sector will see the great opportunity assessing applications can have across England to shape support for talent & diversity.

I rarely tweet, and tbh in breaking that silence I’m not sure there’s much extra to add beyond Rhiannon’s point here. But the Greens can shove the very large bag of my blood that was carried out of theatre somewhere very dark and very unpleasant.
