Austin: these are *not* what I would call "rolling blackouts." They aren't rolling. This is a massive outage being required by the statewide authorities, given that power statewide is down. Details in the thread below. We must redouble our efforts in this emergency.

The big takeaway from Austin Energy's press conference is that, under state orders, the utility has turned off every non-essential circuit it can. That means the blackouts can't "roll" from one area to another. All areas not connected to critical infrastructure are down. (1/5)
