To try and keep our patients with chronic heart failure stable and out of hospital, please remember that they can still access our Heart Failure Liaison Nurse service either by phone or 'attend anywhere'. HF teams are also working together to open ambulatory HF sites in GG&C

Where have all the patients with heart attacks and heart failure gone? Except for patients with COVID-19, all our admissions have reduced dramatically. Normally our CCU would be full but this week we still have empty beds. The message to patients is don't delay needed treatment.

Ambulatory Heart Failure services are running at all acute sites in GG&C for iv diuretic on an OP basis. This is for recent in-patients or those patients in the community who are known to the HF Nurse Service. Patients with worsening oedema should contact their local HF teams

In response to local GP queries, the routine monitoring of potassium and renal function in stable patients on MRAs can reasonably be postponed during the lockdown if two previous readings have been similar, there have been no dose changes and no other relevant medication changes
