Today, the consistently anti-union HearstMagazines became the latest media company to enact needless, irresponsible, and cruel layoffs of editorial employees. Solidarity with all @hearstunion members impacted. Statement:

Well, after five years editing and writing features and politics stories for Esquire, I, indeed, received my delayed calendar invite. Yesterday, I along with a couple other Hearst employees, was laid off from a job I loved and was very good at.

Zach and everyone at Hearst deserves so much better than Hearst management and these layoffs. A 3+ year fight for better protections and a future for Hearst workers only for a suspicious number of union leadership to get axed. My heart to all you strong writer fighters ❤️
