An evening to celebrate skilled and impactful journalism, which, in the words of the well-deserved star of the evening Robert Moore, puts viewers in the driving seat. Congrats to all the Royal Television Society nominees and winners.

In June 2015, in Kharkiv, a woman and her drinks stall. In the same spot in Feb 2022, military hardware. Satellite and streetview imagery is invaluable for helping us verify conflict footage. It can also bring poignant reminders of the human story.

"I drew my fears" - how a 14-year-old resident of Mariupol coped as she sheltered in a basement for days as her city was bombarded and the walls around her shook. Powerful reporting from Anna Lubowicka reut.rs/3IWkDGP

Packing up after five incredible years Reuters. I’ll be keeping these well-scrawled notebooks. A reminder of thousands of stories covered, and collaboration with the most talented and dedicated colleagues I could ever have hoped for.

Last year, our loss was manufactured into a viral lie about COVID-19 vaccines. More than seven months later, I wanted to share that experience to give the world a glimpse into the human impacts of misinformation. Remember, there are real people at stake. nytimes.com/2022/05/11/opi…

Logging in for the second day of #TrustCon2022 . As a relative newcomer to the Trust & Safety space myself, it’s fascinating to hear the impressive range of speakers talk about their very varied paths here.

For good reason, politics has dominated the news here in the UK. And if you’ve not seen what’s happening in Iran, this video goes through it. It’s a remarkable story.

I think it’s easy to see the possible negative impacts of AI text generators in education; takes a bit more creativity to come up with the positives. So kudos to this English teacher for doing just that (and for her highly entertaining account of classroom life!)
