For all NY schools we are setting a new policy that if a student tests positive for #Coronavirus in a school, that school will be closed for a 24hr period so we can do assessment of the situation. Then a determination will be made about whether to close the school for longer.

NY wasn’t helped by the federal legislation. We received less than other states despite having the most COVID-19 cases. I spoke to Senators Schumer, Gillibrand & Speaker Pelosi & they have committed to right this wrong. I am committed to working with them.

I am asking healthcare workers across the country: If things are not urgent in your own community, please come to New York. We need relief for nurses. We need relief for doctors. If you can, help us: health.ny.gov/assistance We will return the favor in your hour of need.
