AI isn’t allowed to assist a suicide-bereaved sibling in exploring visual-language to help explain impacts of their specific experience, but it’s ok for other types of sibling loss+grief. Hmm. Guess there’s no real ‘getting it’ outside of other siblings who’ve lost to suicide.

Interesting paper on the mental health of people doing qualitative research: Historically, those doing qualitative work—either by itself or in mixed method research—have not necessarily felt readily understood or as respected by funders, mainstream journals, or even colleagues.

As both a person bereaved by suicide and an academic, I think this film (‘Contact Hours’) will be a difficult watch and there will be things to say. #AcademicTwitter PAPYRUS instagram.com/reel/DBa6KX1oN…

New paper out from Neil Armstrong and me and I’m ludicrously proud of this. I know it won’t really disrupt the process of psychiatric research… but it has been amazing to really pull my lived experience into an academic paper. cambridge.org/core/journals/…

#SiblingLossAwarenessDay “Whenever I need to mention to someone that ‘my [brother] died’, it still sounds to me like a self-dramatizing lie. Tasteless. Or it’s an act of disloyalty to him. For I don’t experience him as in the least dead, but simply as ‘away’.” (Denise Riley)
