January has me thinking of Hamlet Batista (more than usual). Both his birth month and the month of his passing 💔
Hamlet was kind, loving, peaceful, drama-free, and gave people the benefit of the doubt.
Our industry needs more Hamlets.
Miss you, brother.
Respect to two SEO legends. Both Bill Slawski ⚓ 🇺🇦 and Hamlet Batista were innovators and trailblazers in the SEO industry. Can anyone guess the insights they would've have had about ChatGPT? Imagine the mind-blowing use cases from Hamlet, the eye-opening patents from Bill.
I know that Hamlet Batista would have already published multiple articles by now explaining how to use Python to compare HTML titles to SERP titles.
Been thinking about him all week, then this very unflattering photo randomly came up on my phone.
Miss you so much, brother ❤️
Today marks 2 years since we lost Hamlet Batista
Can you even imagine the next-level shit Hamlet would be coming up with using ChatGPT? Because I can’t. He was one of a kind.
❤️ descanse en paz, hermano ❤️
Today would have been Hamlet’s 45th birthday.
Miss you every day, hermano. Miss your kind, warm, gentle, generous spirit. The industry is not even remotely the same without you.
Que descanses en paz Hamlet Batista y feliz cumple desde todos tus amigos ❤️❤️❤️

I gathered my thoughts on how I feel about SEO software companies taking Hamlet Batista's tech and not crediting him in a new post called

When Hamlet Batista left a get well for Bill Slawski ⚓ 🇺🇦 billslawski.com (he wrote it on Dec. 22nd) ❤️
We'll miss you, Hamlet Batista . Thank you for sharing your love of 🐍 with us, and for helping us to become better, smarter, and more curious. May your humble & kind spirit continue to influence the world of SEO -- and beyond.
I started to learn Python, thanks to one of the SearchEngineJournal® Authors. He is not with us physically.
But, His effect lives with us.
Today, I published my first SEJ Article thanks to Him.

Today we lost the smartest, kindest, most generous SEO I know. He was the one person in the industry I most regret not getting to know well. I knew his work though. It was second to none. Hamlet Batista, you were a giant among us. I pray for you and your family.
The holiday season has me missing Hamlet Batista a lot. I'm keeping his family close in my thoughts, as this will be their first Christmas without him.
I thought I'd share his gofundme again. All contributions continue to go directly to his family.

He was a champion of the industry, quick to promote others, unwaveringly positive, smart, and humble
Hamlet Batista (almost) single-handedly brought Python to the SEO community by sheer force of will
We owe him a debt of gratitude. You were loved, and you will be missed brother

And a small tribute to our beloved Hamlet Batista
Today is one of saddest day for our industry.
Hamlet Batista left us. He was a strong good person, who I was lucky enough to know IRL.
My thought cannot but go to his family and his dearest friends.
Nos veremos para hablar de Python juntos a los angeles .
