After hearing the KMEA Educator Big Band it has me thinking of starting Jazz 440 in Halstead! #jazz

I had a great time at the KMEA in-service conference. It was awesome to reconnect with colleagues and meet new educators in Kansas as well as listening and learning from great presenters on a multitude of subjects! Can’t wait to get back in the classroom on Monday! #music

The CKL Music Festival scheduled for tomorrow at Bethany College in Lindsborg has been cancelled due to the threat of ice accumulation in central Kansas.

Today we explored the GarageBand app with our iPads! In a short amount of time they were able to create tracks and some amazing tunes! #HMSPride #music #garageband

For those who are interested, the McPherson College band will be having our annual collaborative concert with Wichita Independent HS this Thursday. Concert starts at 7:30pm in Brown auditorium. I'd love to see you there!

We had 13 soloist and 5 small ensembles that represented the Band of Dragons today! They all did an amazing job preparing and giving it their all at Regional Solo and Small Ensemble. #proud #band

Today we went to Buhler High School to compete in the State Large Group Competition. We received an “EXCELLENT” rating for our performance. The students did an amazing job preparing and representing Halstead High School.

HMS Band went to the Wichita Symphony Concert tonight to hear Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. They had an amazing experience hearing and seeing such amazing musicians #HMSPride

Halstead Band of Dragons and HHSCHOIR went to KC yesterday for our annual Senior trip. We went to The Roasterie, Joe's Kansas City, @americanjazzkc, Country Club Plaza, and Buca di Beppo. It was great to spend the day learning and discovering new things in KC! Once a Dragon, Always a Dragon!

Egg My House fundraiser was once again a success! The students love hiding Easter eggs for children to find in the morning! Thank you to Halstead and Bentley communities for their continuous support!

Great day at State Solo/Small Ensemble Festival! Kaley Warden received a “Superior” on her solo! Carson, Lilly, RJ, Joshua and the percussion ensemble received an “excellent” rating! #band #godragons
