Bittersweet farewell for our great Meng Lu, the godfather of organelle imaging and post doc for 7 years in Laser Analytics Group (Kaminski Lab) and Molecular Neuroscience Group. On to great new things, Prof. Lu, and off to a cracking career in Peking University! Well done, Meng, and richly deserved! CEB Cambridge

Ever wondered how Antarctic fish survive in freezing waters? 🐟❄️ With new funding UK Research and Innovation, we are creating the microscopes needed to find out. The goal? To reveal how life adapts to harsh conditions and its impact on our warming planet 🌍🔬 British Antarctic Survey 🐧 ow.ly/6xf650TcCpa

Science today has little understanding of how life functions at low temperatures. That is about to change. CEB is working with British Antarctic Survey 🐧 to develop next-gen microscopes that will unlock polar life’s frozen secrets. youtu.be/cK2DdWLsbes #DrivenByCuriosity #DrivingChange

Our Head of Department, Professor Clemens Kaminski, gave a fascinating lecture to our alumni on the history of the light microscope. Special thanks also to the @whipplemuseum for bringing along some samples from early microscopy at Cambridge! #DrivenByCuriosity #DrivingChange
