1/ Germany head in the sand approach to the crisis in Ukraine continues. Saying they openly plan to wean themselves off German energy ONLY by the end of 2024. This is now Monty Pythonesque from German - like the Fawlty Towers sketch “don’t mention the war”.

Germany still underestimates how its domestic politics driven foreign policy produces a devastating backlash in global public opinion. Not only did its energy policy enable Putin and RUS aggression, but constant German delaying on weapons for UKR is seen as abject moral failure.

The now infamous open letter by 'intellectuals & artists' calling on #Germany to stop supporting #Ukraine [&, effectively, for 🇺🇦's capitulation to #Russia] is very revealing. As well as being patronising as hell & totally wrong I think its shows something else too ... 1/
