Indigenous peoples settled in DC more than four millennia ago. Native American artifacts have been found in Capitol Hill, Anacostia, Rock Creek, and across DC. On Indigenous Peoples Day, we honor the history and contributions of the Native Americans who first inhabited this land.

2G01 residents have a reason to celebrate today - thanks to the great work of our city, these affordable housing units will stay in Shaw & the developer is held accountable. We need affordable housing in DC so everyone and anyone can call our neighborhood their home.

Dangerous drivers are a known reality on our streets. We need to make sure all neighbors-including families and seniors-feel safe on our streets. I look forward to passing resolutions for new infrastructure to cut down on dangerous driving if elected as your ANC Commissioner!

Neighbors! Tomorrow DDOT is hosting a meeting to discuss the Georgia Ave NE Bus Priority Lane project. I will attend to learn more about how this project will improve transportation in our neighborhood. I support this and other efforts to improve reliability of public transit

Tonight I attended DDOT DC ‘s open house on Georgia Ave NW. The facts speak for themselves: a bus lane would make public transport more reliable & safer for everyone on the road. I wrote a comment of support for this. As your ANC I would advocate for more improvements like this.

We have a similar issue with narrow sidewalks that aren’t ADA compliant in 2G01. Glad to see candidates like Matthew who are also concerned about pedestrian infrastructure and safety.

I have been an advocate for more reliable public transport and the bus priority lanes projects. I want safer bike and pedestrian infrastructure like protected bike lanes and wider sidewalks. My role as your ANC will to keep roads safe for all who use them - not just drivers.

I’m happy to announce that DPR is officially scheduling a committee for the North Shaw Dog Park I have been championing. Hundreds of neighbors and dozens of businesses signed the petition for this park. I am looking forward to working with DPR to getting this dog park approved!

It is sincerely heartwarming that so many in our neighborhood took the time to leave their homes and cast their ballots for me. Thank you for your time, attention, and votes. I will continue to work to improve our neighborhood as I always have.

Picking up trash on my block, a typical Sunday afternoon activity for me. Showing the before and after from the weekend, and the entire bag of trash I filled just on my street alone. We need to enable our city’s resources to deal with this and not let Shaw become a dump.

Uproar is a part of the wonderful ecosystem of LGBTQIA+ spaces that make Shaw special. The owner, Tammy Truong, also supports the dog park application. While I am unsure of the reason, I hope that they get the financing they need - queer spaces are more important than ever.

Before the snow hit, I went out to clean up the streets with all the litter that had built up from new years. I filled two trash bags with the amount of trash ONLY on my side of the block alone. Looking forward to ways we can eliminate trash on our streets in the new year.
