To beat Texas Tech Saturday night, WSU registered four takeaways, limited Tech to 1/5 on fourth down and disrupted QB Behren Morton all game. But thanks to this pass rush, the Cougs snuffed out any comeback possibility. Deep dive on WSU's defense in here. spokesman.com/stories/2024/s…

A few injury updates from Jake Dickert ahead of this weekend's Apple Cup • P Nick Haberer is questionable • NB Jerrae Williams out "an extended period of time" • OL Fa'alili Fa'amoe (knee) sounds like a gametime decision. He'll get a full week of practice for the first time.

Didn't ask about Wayshawn Parker specifically, but Dickert didn't bring him up. "We had some bumps and bruises from the game, but feel pretty confident that we should be mostly full strength come game time," he said.

WSU coach Jake Dickert on QB John Mateer and his running ability: “I wouldn’t even know the last time we saw that style of football (at WSU), rushing for that many yards and the quarterback being that dynamic with his legs.”

WSU safety Tyson Durant on facing UW QB Will Rogers: “I know he hasn’t faced anywhere near the D-line we have over here, so if we get some pressure on him, I think he’s gonna struggle.”

After WSU's season-opener, Jake Dickert challenged Tyson Durant. He asked his safety to stop playing timid. A few days later, Durant had 8 tackles and 2 crucial PBUs, helping WSU take down Texas Tech. Ahead of the Apple Cup, he's brimming with confidence. spokesman.com/stories/2024/s…

Not much new on WSU OL Fa'alili Fa'amoe's status, according to Jake Dickert this morning. Still a game-time decision for the Apple Cup. "This is his first two hard days (of practice) back-to-back," Dickert said. "We'll see how he responds."
