Offering New York City working families free, high-quality early childhood education options is smart social policy, and it makes economic sense. That's why New York City Council is fighting hard to restore $170M in puzzling cuts made to popular 3-K and Pre-K programs like this one!
This morning, I was joined by my incredible colleagues, members of labor, advocates, and parents at our rally calling on Mayor Eric Adams to fully invest in early childhood education. The message was clear: it's time to put our youngest New Yorkers and working-class families first.
CPC joined Education Committee Chair Rita Joseph, Adrienne Adams, members of the New York City Council, advocates, and allies in calling for a full investment in early childhood education- including a restoration of $170 million- in the final city budget.
