I know my grandfathers who were trackers looked after our people. They were hired as required mostly to look after missing people and stock. They knew our law. They were not native police and some disrespectful myall who don't know the difference should keep their mouth shut.

Amazing news. This scrub-wren was recaptured today and is now at least 12 years old! He’s been around so long that taxonomy changed and he’s moved from being a White-browed to a Spotted Scrub-wren!

On a plane. Feeling very guilty about that but couldn’t avoid it if I was to attend a friend’s wedding. Below, a country that has been inhabited for over 60,000 years with zero impact to its environment, only to have much of that undone in a matter of decades. Can we fix it? 🌏⚖️

Good news from folk who walked the Cascade Trail which just re-opened after March feral animal control: no signs of feral horses, deer or pigs where in previous years they regularly saw piles of horse manure. Trail-side grasses long & healthy. Anecdotal, but an encouraging sign.
