This afternoons graduation ceremony was rather poignant, as it was Anton Muscatelli last ceremony at Gilmorehill. For 16 years, Sir Anton has been our Vice Chancellor - though he first started as an undergraduate in 1980. To mark this, we concluded with the Italian National anthem 🇮🇹

Another one from the Pathe News Archive is - University of Glasgow Students during Rag Week in 1947.

Wonderful to see our academic colleagues from Università di Bologna here at this afternoons graduation ceremony. The University of Bologna was founded in 1088, and is the oldest university in the Western world. University of Glasgow founded in 1451, is a mere 574 years old.

A big thank you to our amazing UofG Security colleagues - for making sure that our graduation ceremonies went undisturbed today - allowing all of our world changing graduates & their guests to enjoy their day, and celebrate their achievements at Gilmorehill in style.

Watching - Heads of State Amazon.co.uk the action comedy from 2025. Starring among others - John Cena, Idris Elba, Priyanka Chopra, Jack Quaid, Paddy Considine, Stephen Root, and Carla Gugino. Directed by Ilya Naishuller.

Just 4 more graduation ceremonies to go next week Lots of energetic clapping & 2 standing ovations today for our amazing graduates. Our Deputy Vice Chancellor Rachel Sandison sure knows how to raise the roof with a powerful & inspiring charge to our new University of Glasgow graduates.

I may have insider knowledge that helped me get 10/10 in the Avenue magazine graduation quiz! I’ll await my prize UofG Alumni 🎓

Graeme K University of Glasgow UofG Alumni Our Alma Mater means a lot to us. It’s where we met, at a dance in the Men’s Union (as it was then) in September 1966.

Raising a glass this evening for one of our amazing UofG Estates colleagues who sadly lost his battle with cancer today - one of the nicest people you could wish to meet. Thank you to jcree & University of Glasgow for ensuring that his family is supported & taken care off 💔
