Today is #NationalUnicornDay , and we're always happy to celebrate Scotland's national animal!
We have 2 famous unicorns at University of Glasgow - one sits atop the Memorial Gates (1952), and the other upon the 334 year old Lion & Unicorn staircase, moved from our Old College campus. ๐ฆ๐ฆ
Have you ever noticed this frieze on the UofG Engineering Building, James Watt South?
Titled โThe Progress of Scienceโ, the sculpture by Eric Kennington and Eric Stanford (1959) features a Latin inscription: 'By sea and by land, through knowledge and skill, learn and teach'. ๐
