Just to recap: We found out today that an LLM that fits on a high-end consumer GPU, when trained on specific biological data, can discover a novel method to make cancer tumors more responsive to immunotherapy. Confirmed novel discovery (not present in existing literature).

Today's task...the glass bottle. Looks a little wonky but I'm on vacation rn. I find it much harder to do this stuff on a laptop with just the trackpad. Tomorrow I want to sketch a bottle cap then create a six pack 🍻 I seriously can't recommend the "Learn Fusion 360 in 30

Just finished up the Steve Jobs biography. Now I get it. Tim Cook has been a great operator, but it really makes you think where Apple would be today if Jobs was still alive. He had ideas for a TV before he died, the HomePod would probably be much more present in our lives,

CAD is just so satisfying. Can't believe how much functionality the free version of Fusion 360 has. My algorithm is already showing me advanced projects other people are working on -- can't wait to be on that level. For now, my paper clip and Listerine bottle will hold me over.

The LLM performance drop off on CAD questions is actually pretty crazy. I'm literally at level 0 and it definitely struggles on some pretty beginner-level questions imo. Interested if more advanced users feel the same way? I'm currently chalking it up to my not knowing enough

no one wants to hear this, but, if you want to stop seeing this stuff, build a real economy that works for people. a service based economy built on doordash, mckinsey, and chatgpt while making china the factory of the world is not real and will lead to this outcome.

It’s not nihilism. It’s destiny. It’s the spirit of the pioneer. It’s the yearning for greatness. It’s the excitement of risking it all.

Unlike bad things, which tend to happen suddenly, good things tend to be built gradually, so are rarely newsworthy on any particular day. Thus, bad things dominate the news, even as overall the world gets better (albeit too slowly for us to notice).
