One of at least 12 Chinese Long-tailed Rosefinches (Uragus sibiricus lepidus 长尾雀 Cháng wěi què) at Lingshan on Monday. This one is a male. A small population breeds at this site, with more records in winter.

On October 9th I had my first Ring Ouzel of the year near Chowder, Barton on the local patch - they have been a bit thin this autumn but Wayne and Clare found one in the same spot this morning surely a different bird not seen in the interim - a nice first-winter male
