My response in today’s jepnews to some of the misinformation being spread about the changes to our tenancy law that I am proposing. A lot of misinformation is being spread about what the law contains and what impact it will have on landlords. Arm yourself with the facts 💪

To correct today’s jepnews. You do not have to sell your home to get Income Support. 🏡 If you live in a suitably sized home, its value is not counted when we assess your claim. ✅ Having a mortgage doesn’t automatically mean you’re not eligible to get help with living costs.

Deputy Mary Le Hegarat has published the first progress report concerning VAWG, showing that good progress has been made. Of the recommendations from November 2023, 27 are complete or require no further action, and 42 are in progress. Read the report: bit.ly/4mRNjpw

The Homelessness Cluster meets quarterly and met today, on #WorldHomelessDay. It brings together reps from across Government of Jersey agencies, social housing providers and charitable organisations involved in supporting islanders who are homeless or at risk of experiencing homelessness.
