Material system in place, and support for smooth and sharp edges on the 3d models. Testing out some basic cel shading but it doesn't look that interesting with very simple models and no AO or Shadows. so... I'll add SSAO and Shadows :) #gamedev #indiedev #screenshotsaturday

Added measurements for each render pass to the profiler, this was not included in the systems because currently the entire render pipeline is executed as a single system. I might change that in the future if I want to use multiple threads for the game loop. #indiedev #gamedev

Making some progress on the railroad building system. Single button to draw a blueprint/hologram, and when they are placed the type and direction are determined by the nearby ones. Building transport routes should be very simple in my game #gamedev #indiedev

Basic path finding for train routes implemented! Using a simple BFS search, a few microseconds to execute on a complex train route. I'll probably replace it with A* or something else later. Good enough for now :) Adding a trains next! #gamedev #indiedev

Basic core loop in place, infinite mining shaft generation, expansion sideways and pathfinding. Adding the elevator shaft next(which will be where the miner digs down) #gamedev #indiedev

Elevator up and running! Had a very productive day today :) Going to start adding skills and modifiers next, but I need to do some engine work first. No Event System yet, making interactions between systems a bit tedious and error prone. #gamedev #indiedev

Most of the game loop is complete now :) time to implement some upgrades! I also plan to experiment a bit with multiple miners. One seems a bit empty and might look slow. It's either multiple miners, or a single miner mining multiple tiles per hit. #gamedev #indiedev

30 miners are way to much :) But I really like the idea of having access to additional miners later in the game. So I'll definetely keep this in the game. Maybe limit it at 3-4 miners, it will speed up all actions a lot anyway. #gamedev #indiedev

The main game loop is mostly finished now, will be focusing on upgrades and unlocks next. Like the market, elevator upgrades etc. It starts to feel like a game with meaningful decisions now, really enjoy working on this project. #indiedev #gamedev
