But if you try to write a program with GPT-4 (original) and GPT-5, the difference will be night and day. Most people have never had that experience This is a big problem! If you can't feel the change, you absolutely will not be prepared for what's coming

On one hand: don't anthropomorphize AI. On the other: LLMs exhibit signs of gambling addiction. The more autonomy they were given, the more risks the LLMs took. They exhibit gambler's fallacy, loss-chasing, illusion of control... A cautionary note for using LLMs for investing.

For those who still don't get it: - Researchers working at the frontier labs are genuinely convinced that transformative AI is coming. - They spend their time worrying about the social/political consequences of transformative AI, not the "AI bubble". - Recursive

It's strange that the "anti hype" position is now "AGI is one decade away". That... would still be a very alarming situation to be in? It's not at all obvious that that would be enough time to prepare

This is the current state of AI, by the way. Workers are capturing the gains from productivity and deciding whether to reveal their higher levels of output/hour or hide it from firms. This may hold until autonomous agents are broadly reliable or firms rebuild processes.

Holy shit. Bernie Sanders just called for OpenAI to be broken up "AI is like a meteor coming." He's worried about: 1) "Terminator scenarios" where superintelligent AI takes over (!!) 2) massive job loss (literally ALL jobs, per his tweet) 3) what AI will do to us as human
