Coding with AI always feels like having an intern with infinite resources and confidence, but almost zero experience. That’s why I never let it roam free in my codebase. I’m still surprised some people think that’s a good idea.

💡 TIL about `isolation: isolate` in CSS. It makes an element create its own stacking context, so its layering stays separate from its surroundings. Super useful when you want fewer surprises from blending or z-index conflicts.

If you're a frontend dev, learn backend. If you're a backend dev, learn frontend. Once you can do both, you’ll become a one-person army.

I’ve gotten so used to using Claude Code these days that sometimes I don’t even open the code. It scares me a little. What if I’ve stopped thinking for myself and started relying on AI too much? Do you feel the same? Is it troubling you? I’d say I’m much more efficient than I

Claude Design has perfect timing! I’d been procrastinating on designing some new UI, and it helped me get it fully done in just a couple of hours. A new, complex feature I didn’t even know how to start. It’s really amazing!

Happy weekend, friends! ☀️ What are you up to today? Relaxing? Working? I have a book to read and some content to write, so I’m hoping for a productive day.

Yesterday marked 4 years since I moved to Dubai! I was born in Moscow, lived there for 33 years, and, honestly, never planned to leave. But guess life had other plans. I didn’t have high expectations of Dubai, but it slowly grew on me and became my home. Happy to be here!

Look at this amazing dataviz example I found! This article explores almost 700 hand-drawn visualizations from Indian census materials — an effort to make dry statistics more understandable for ordinary people. 🔗 diagramchasing.fun/2026/portraits… I’m always drawn to cases where

Almost every idea has already been built at least once. The point is not to be the first. The point is to be better for a specific use case.

Today's CSS hack: `position: sticky` and `overflow: auto`. Let's say you want a page with a table that has: • global vertical scroll, • no inner vertical scrolls, • horizontal scroll only for the table, • sticky table header. Sounds reasonable, right? In practice, it's not

⚒️ Today’s WIP. This is a small project I’m doing for a friend. They’re interested in comparing the cost and quality of different speech-to-text AI providers. I’ll post a link when it goes live. Btw, I’m open to design critiques: I came up with the UI myself, with Claude's

How did you start your newsletter? Was it a planned marketing thing, or more of a spur-of-the-moment decision? Was it worth it?

One day, there will be full-on vibe-coding companies. With live technical interviews where AI agents battle each other. Maybe even in public — what a show!
