The theme of the conference “Good Health and Wellbeing; Contribution of Public Health Nurses to Achieving Goal 3 of the UN SDGs”resonates with the efforts of Beyond Zero Initiative, which works to ensure the health and wellbeing of mothers and children | GNPHN

Improving our health outcomes requires multiple actions at different levels, and this conference recognises public health nursing as a core component to quality care #healthvisiting #PublicHealth | GNPHN | Ministry of Health Nursing Council of Kenya

Public health nursing goes beyond just being a job in a health facility. This human resource must be recognised for their indispensable role. More resources & training programs must be allocated by Govts. to ensure quality standards are maintained by this cohort of professionals.

There is a need to consider improving our healthcare systems by promoting a patient-centred model that focuses the needs of individual in the continuum of specialist care. It will benefit all our healthcare systems if we invest in building a strong cadre of public health nurses.

I urge Governments and health partners to work together to take forward the resolutions and recommendations made at the end of this conference as we also renew our collective commitment for the overall health and wellness of our people #healthvisiting #PublicHealth | GNPHN
