.The Green Party’s claimed figures from a projection show “only the Greens can stop Reform” in Gorton and Denton. This is misleading. The model cited suggests Reform and the Greens will increase vote share the most, but currently projects a Labour win. fullfact.org/politics/green…

Only Labour can defeat Reform in Gorton and Denton. A vote for the Greens or any other party risks them getting in. We are a tolerant, proud, progressive city and we don’t want their divisive brand of politics here.

Only Labour can defeat Reform in this by-election. A vote for any other Party risks letting them in. Manchester is proud of its diversity. Together we must stand against Reform’s division and hate and elect a local Labour MP who will stand up for the values we share.

I've argued for this before too: it doesn't work to have unrepresentative party memberships pick party leaders in a parliamentary democracy. Far more democratic to let MPs who represent thousands of voters pick their party leader. Both parties were mad to intro these reforms.

John Rentoul I agree. I'm against all popular election of any executive position, as good speakers tend to win out over people who can actually do a complex job, mostly paperwork and people-management. Vision is important, but only part of the job.

I’ve been out campaigning in Gorton & Denton today. The response on the doors confirmed to me what all polling and fair analysis shows: this is a Labour vs Reform contest. Labour in Manchester is strong not just in activists but in public recognition of the city’s progress.

He didn't sell it off and pocket the sale, he bought other assets to diversify our holdings. We made money from them and retain ownership. Unlike when the Tories sold off our national assets and we own nothing now.

Because when some rich dude wanted to buy him glasses and a British designer wanted to gift his wife dresses for her foreign visits you all had a mental breakdown.

Thanks, Paul. These claims are utterly bogus. Remediation is paid for through service charges. Ground rent is not a payment for a service. It’s pure profit extracted from leaseholders and it’s absolutely right that it’s being capped (and reduced to peppercorn after 40 years)

UK medical graduates used to compete among themselves for roles across the NHS. But after changes made by the last government, they are competing against global candidates. I’m glad having raised the concerns of several local medical graduates, Minsters have listened and acted.

Hey Lisa Nandy MP Is there anything, anything at all, you can do to sort out our media? They’re crucifying Labour daily. I voted for you and I want to hear what you’re up to as my elected government. Thank you in advance.

London is a city built around its rivers. Once declared biologically dead, the Thames is thriving again - thanks to the super sewer diverting millions of tonnes of pollution. This year, we’ll set out our plan to clean all 41 rivers across London over the next decade

Britain is on the cusp of an economic boom – David Owen, from Saltmarsh Economics, says the media narrative of bankrupt Britain has been a travesty. “People just wrote us off. Now the stars are aligned and I think the UK can easily surprise on the upside, with growth of 2-3pc
