There is a slight (level 2/5) risk for severe storms later this afternoon into tonight. Damaging winds are the primary threat, but isolated large hail or tornadoes are also possible. Otherwise, warm and breezy today with highs in the lower 80s and max wind gusts of 25-30 mph.

650am: Current radar shows rain becoming more widespread across the area this morning. There are pockets of heavy rain that will reduce visibility, so remain alert and slow down while driving. Watch out for ponding water on the roads. Wipers on = headlights on!

Storms will likely impact most of the area today, though there are lingering uncertainties regarding timing. Multiple rounds of storms are possible, one this afternoon and evening & perhaps another tonight. With the hot & humid airmass in place, storms quickly could turn severe.
