Happy New Year! Tried a soggy #NewYearPlantHunt around the #RobinswoodHill office today and found a couple of determined flowers... but the most colourful things were in fruit, not flower

You can't beat Slimbridge on days like today, the light was perfect, slightest breeze and some quality birds. Went first thing, and then back again in the late afternoon! So nice to dust off the camera for a few hours...

Morning folks! Bit of a quiz to kick off the day - can you guess the plant species from this strange looking distribution map? It's something that is in flower right now!

Citizen science in action! Volunteers joined Kai'a and Pete to survey Riverflies on the River Frome - finding mayflies, stoneflies, and caddisflies. With #Halloween & bonfire night fast approaching, we're urging anyone who's building bonfires to only do so on the day they are to be lit! This simple step can help save #hedgehogs and other #wildlife from appalling suffering. 🦔 🍂 🔥 ❗ Please share to make aware ❗

Chuffed to find a single Waxwing on mistletoe by the row of poplars near the gravel area east of the Sailing Lake at Frampton on Severn at 10:30 this morning. #Glosbirds

A great trip around FoD with Paul Masters most targets got. 7 year ticks, Crossbills abundant in the Crabtree/Serridge area. Frustrated by an unseen calling Goshawk. Bramblings, Hawfinches, Redpolls all seen. Finished with @danwatsonbirder's Waxwing as we were close. #GlosBirds

The Dippers are nest building!!! They're nesting under the same small bridge, in our village, where they've reared two broods each year for the last 3 years. Amazingly, hardly anyone in the village is aware of their existence. I am more than a little in love with them 🤎
