First trip of the new samvatsara! It is traditional wisdom that much of the intellect is developed when one travels around to see the world. At our gurukula-s, we make sure to nurture this important aspect of a man's transformation, from a brahmachari, to a brahmishtha.

First stop was the lesser known ruins, and some still functional temples, of the ancient capital of Paramara kings, Utthunaka (Arthuna). Who says time travel is yet to be invented? You can actually feel the emotions of the ancients here, and in many such places all over Bharata.

One of the brahmachari-s remarked he is seeing the 4th or 5th vRshabha (Shiva's vahana), all at different temples, without Shiva, it reminded of the sad state we are in.. may these vRshabha-s truly become Shiva's vahana at all such places, and then some more.

Watching the ocean for the first time is an experience one can't forget. Etches into one's memory, the witnessing of ananta, a roaring ananta, and then the thought that even this ananta is infinitely smaller than the greatest conceivable ananta-s. And of course, it is super fun!

Sahasrarchi taking leave, Shatarchi coming up in its full glory. A brahmachari offering his evening prayers, making his connection with the mantra 'samudraadarnavaadadhi..'

Some birds caught on our camera, while we canvassed Gujarat and south Rajasthan. Watching birds can be so interesting was a revelation to the kids. Maybe we'll plan a visit to some bird sanctuary next time.

Temple in a deep forest always has, at the same time, a magnetic pull n a fearful respect. Boys were making puns on Gir before reaching there, once there, they were stunned by the jungle, more so, in anticipation of finding.. worse, being found by a Simha :D

And finally, just before dusk, she came.. ! What a glorious glorious sight.. from so close! Wish we could touch her, but then, she is too sacred.. Also had a meet and eat session with the other famous inhabitant of Gir, Kesar Keri, organically grown in a kesar mango orchard.

Upon our travels, we encountered, in a strange village, four ancient beings, named dho, la, vi and ra. They had kept their pace with modern technologies while also keeping secure their ancient traditions as you will see in the video in next tweet. Mind, blown!

What did we say about time travel :) It is how this was hundreds of generations ago, and it is how it will be thousands of generations later. We just need to ensure we do our part right.

Brahmachari-s were amazed by the scores of ancient seals and other artefacts dug from the excavation site. Some wanted to be become an archaeologist then and there, hope they'll someday dig us out from the mess we currently are in :)

And what is a trip without so many tirtha darshana.. began and ended the yatra, as is our practice, with deva darshana. May they guide our Rashtra, in current times and the even challenging times to come.

Quite intriguing for the young minds to get as close as possible, a real physical experience of the imaginary lines seen on maps and globes! Guess the river in the second pic.
