In honor of #PrideMonth The Secretary's Office of Diversity and Inclusion AFSA glifaa co-hosted a screening of “The Lavender Scare” to shed light on this dark part of the Department’s history towards LGBTQI+ employees. Its also a story of how a painful history sparked achievement, activism & social change.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life in Colorado Springs. The LGBTQIA+ community mourns for the victims of this cowardly attack. We must all speak out against violence and bigotry directed toward the LGBTQIA+ community, at home and abroad.

When we read that the Pride flag at Sue Littleton and her partner Candice Zaina’s Bees Knees General Store in Lawrencetown was being repeatedly vandalized, we thought, let’s give them ours in solidarity. LGBTQI+ rights are human rights.

Alba Rueda is Argentina's current Special Envoy for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity. Rueda is a driving force behind transgender rights. Her hope is to establish an LGBTQI+ foreign policy agenda and mainstream it into the various negotiations. #IWOC
