Life's biggest regret? Buying a leasehold flat in England and believing all the legal paperwork stating it was built in accordance with building regs.

Paul is not exaggerating. The major snags on new builds is a national disgrace. For 2 years we had major rainwater floods coming through the roof. A new build in 2001. What a great title for a sci-fi horror.

Ireland 1978, Northern Ireland 2001, and Scotland 2000, all modernised their feudal systems to align with the modern world, restore equity and to achieve true home ownership. What did England do? Went backwards, made things worse, denied home ownership and entrenched feudal laws

Explosive interview with Harry and welcome input from Gove correctly calling out freeholder greed and exploitation. A judicial review must allow representation from both camps, not just freeholders. Labour is not fighting for the working people. It must smash leasehold.

Labour has a gripe with 2nd home owners. Many driven out by punishing changes to their tax regime. Yet not one action against the greediest of all, FREEHOLDERS. Developers ramping up build to rent portfolio to fit void. Labour kotow to corporations and wealthy landowners.

Starmer boasts about removing red tape to allow developers to build more quickly. The biggest lesson learnt from the cladding scandal is that it was caused by the lack of red tape. He'd better be ready to prosecute value engineering this time round. BECAUSE IT WILL HAPPEN.

Leaseholders in Kensington and Bayswater, join your MP’s action group! You even get to speak to the housing minister on 11th June if you RSVP. We need more of this from MPs.

Moving Home with Charlie Imagine having enjoyed living there for 8 years and treating it like a home and not worrying about having to rent it/ a landlord selling. It's also about quality of life, not just money.

Real change for leaseholders is now beyond urgent. Excessive service charges, unresponsive managing agents, crippling and unexpected fees - the list goes on. I asked the Housing Minister for reassurance that residents will soon see real change - not more talk.

I politely asked a teenager to turn off her phone because the light was bothering my view of the film. She looked at me and said "are you taking the piss?" and refused. Other bad behaviour made me stop going to the cinema. Cinema staff don't care. theguardian.com/film/2025/jun/…

Kirstie Allsopp RICS If it's a Leasehold flat you don't actually own it - you have bought a lease to live in a freeholders property for a specified length of time. This is the Leasehold trap people fall into - no ownership but liable for ALL costs to maintain. Find out more 👇 facebook.com/share/g/1B2YtN…

Shoddy builds start at the very top of developer organisations. Their desire for fat cat pay cheques, fancy holidays and flash cars is insatiable. Their collective greed gives rise to value engineering. Governments look the other way.

Very pleased to see this issue raised by Gideon Amos OBE MP although the response is indeed underwhelming. Shoddy new builds are causing misery & financial hardship. We need much tighter monitoring & enforcement against slapdash builders.
