W.E.B. DuBois, one of the most towering intellectuals in American history, was born #OTD in 1868. He wrote widely and with immense authority on so many different subjects. DuBois' work is still relevant to this day. School of Public Affairs #BlackHistoryMonth
#OTD in 1870 Hiram Revels was sworn into office, becoming the first Black member of the U.S Senate. He served for just over a year, later taking a post as president of Alcorn College. School of Public Affairs #BlackHistoryMonth
