In the face of these figures, govt policy is all wrong. Social rents rose 7% and then 7.7% over the last 2yrs, far higher than wages. But instead of reducing rents, govt's allowing councils & housing assocs to increase rents above inflation for at least the next 10yrs. Twisted.
