She looked away, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. He always made her feel young whenever they went on date night. “I know you really like Olive Garden, but I recently found a new place I think you’ll love.” She turned to him again with a smile. “Sound good?”

After telling Bob the address of the small restaurant, the mother of 3 watched the lights of the night whiz by her like streams of neon colour, her mind at ease for the first time in a while. This date was certainly /very/ overdue, but them doing it now was all that mattered.

She could feel his worry. No matter how hard he tried to conceal it, Helen could always feel that anxiety that would come from being a superhero. Mainly because she had to keep that anxiety at bay herself. She reached over to the steering wherl and gave his hand a soft squeeze.

A nervous chuckle came out of Elastigirl’s mouth as she waved the queen off. “I-I don’t deserve a bow, your highness.” Helen then proceeded to kneel on one knee. “I-it’s an honour to be in your presence, Miss-uh, I mean, Queen Elsa.”

With an exhale, she said, “We’ll be okay. Nothing’s gonna happen tonight. Nothing’s happened for a little while. Why would this chanhe anything?” She wasn’t sure if she was assurin Bob or convincing herself. . .

“No, honey. Don’t apologise for that.” Helen said genuinely. She couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty now. “We can’t help it. You shouldn’t apologise for something you can’t help.”

With a firm nod, Helen let go of his hand right as they pulled up at the address. “Here we are: Da Nico.” Helen had passed here many times during her missions, smelling the delicious food as she whizzed past on her Elasti-cycle. Yet she had never had anything from there.

A feeling of pride bloomed from Helen’s chest, warming her limbs as it spread through her body. She knew that Bob would like it, but it was still nice hearing it verbally. “Hey, I won’t complain. Now let’s go get some food.”

The delicious smell was 100 times stronger inside the restaurant, and Helen couldn’t stop her mouth from salivating. “Goodness me. . .” Helen sighed in wonderment, looking up at her husband fondly. “Isn’t /this/ something?”

“I, uh. . . I don’t know. . .” This was very new to Helen as well. A young waitress, sensing their confusion, came over to them with a cheery smile. “Good evening, you guys! Date night, is it?”

The waitress gave a short laugh and clasped her hands in front of her. “Have you guys dined with us before?” Helen looked up to her husband and shook her head. “No. We’ve heard a lot about this place though, so we figured: why not come and try it?”
