A few years ago if I was awake at 3am on a Sunday it was usually because I hadn’t slept yet. Now it’s because my gremlin child won’t sleep so we’re watching Peppa Pig to stop him screaming. Joyous.

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt this summer it’s that I have a lot of opinions on Peppa Pig.

My day started by lovingly de-stoning olives for my toddler to eat as his desired pre-breakfast snack. Sunday mornings used to be so different…

Not to brag but my watch congratulated me on 10 minutes of exercise. I’d been trying to get my toddler to lay down to have his nappy on for bed.

Little’un is nearly 2 and I’ve just had to put the google speaker in his room playing Lewis Capaldi to calm him down for bedtime

In the last three months my toddler has started screaming when I put him to bed at night. Doesn’t do it for his dad. Always brings me to breaking point. No point to this other than to get my frustrations out.

Daddy has been working all weekend. Toddler has been a handful. I feel like I might burst into tears at any point. I am overstimulated and overwhelmed. I thought by this age I’d have him sussed.

Two years ago tonight I was hooked up to machines in hospital, off my face on gas and air waiting for my little man to arrive. What a whirlwind it’s been.

Part of parenting I wasn’t prepared for: having a Billy Joel obsessed two year old who is demanding “FIRE” every second of the day.

Broadway. Not for me.

H’s first night in big boy bed. Went in no fuss. I am not fooled that this is how it will be every night but I’ll still count it as a success!
