2 years ago at the Seabed Authority Costa Rica called for a "Precautionary Pause": no Seabed mining until & unless we can ensure effective protection of the environment. It started as a small club. Now we are 31!This wk we welcomed Malta, Honduras, Guatemala, Austria & Tuvalu!!

The International Seabed Authority just elected a new Secretary General.By a landslide we chose transparency,neutrality, accountability,equality and the opportunity to-finally-have a State driven organization.Congrats to Leticia Carvalho,full support from Costa Rica!
