When the cowslips appear it is a sign that Spring is here. I saw butterflies and bees sipping their nectar gratefully yesterday as warmth and sunshine returned to my part of the world. It is a perfect prelude to today’s New Moon and tomorrow’s Equinox.

The Equinox today welcomes the new light of Spring. This light is special, and Its gentle glow stirs something deep within us - hope, wonder, and a sense of new beginnings, if we allow ourselves to see and to feel. I am grateful for it in these troubled times.

The hare returned today, a welcome sign the rhythm of country life continues as it has done for millennia. Which reality do you choose to occupy – that of anxiety about something you cannot change, or the environment that shows the state of your soul? Find your hare and love it.

25 March is Hilaria, the Roman festival of joy, honouring Cybele, Mother of the Gods, and celebrating the triumph of light after the spring equinox. As sap rose and buds unfurled, Romans rejoiced in spring’s return—winter’s death giving way to new life. A sacred day of renewal.

In earlier times today was start of the new year because of the spring equinox. it also marks the Annunciation which heralded the start of the manifestation of Christ on Earth in exactly 9 months. Spring and rebirth, Spirit and creation are coming together.

Humanity is going through a hard and protracted rebirthing process in which we are all involved. Imagine the joy and relief when it is done not so far from now. Be grateful for the moments of calm in between the painful spasms of evolutionary labour, which are shared by Gaia too.

No matter how lost you may feel from time to time, you will always find your way home. Hold onto to the golden thread of light that lies before you and know that with it you are safe.
