Financial barriers and the obsession with elite athletics in youth sport set our country down a different road than Norway, not sure where and when we went wrong but it likely started around the time dads began showing up to their kid's u9 games in tracksuits.

Crazy for a long stretch people even from his own hometown didn't like him, never understood it, the refs/nhl didn't protect him as a kid, and you had worms like Jason Blake for example spear him downstairs amongst other violations on a nightly basis, never had an off ice issue.

Nova scotia's refusal to chase ambitious modes of transit is such a barrier, let's just sit in traffic for the rest of our lives. Or imagine if we had dedicated passenger rail from Yarmouth to cape Breton, Halifax to the valley, or even the airport, tourism would explode.
