Our newest paper is out in The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters! We use IM-MS and DFT to investigate the dynamics and energetics of carbon nanohoops and their ring-in-ring complexes. Many thanks to co-first author Markus Freiberger and the other authors! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

First (of many 😉) paper with James Group in OBC! We benchmarked DFT & wavefunction methods for organic radical species. Congrats to all, especially Ethan and TIm Renningholtz 🥳 Research IT at the University of Manchester UoM Chemistry #compchem 🖥️⚛️ pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Really happy to announce that my first paper is now out in ChemPhysChem regarding the study of Bidentate Hypervalent Iodine Catalysts in Halogen-Bonding. Thanks to everyone who was involved in this undertaking!

Amazing work by pagelgroup - amazed to see how gas-phase studies could unveil so much about chemical reactions! 🍻Congratulations! Dr. Kim Greis nature.com/articles/s4416…

A great week at @imsc2024 comes to an end in Melbourne, full of amazing science and people! Grateful to present our work on ion mobility MS and single molecule microscopy, both at Manchester Institute of Biotechnology and with Kelvin Anggara! Many thanks to the organising team around Prof. Gavin Reid and Tara Pukala!

Just a few hours left until the Super Meeting with our friends at British Society for Proteome Research ! Who’s excited ? #BMSSBSPR2024

Happy to share our newest paper in Angewandte Chemie! We used IM-MS to distinguish rotaxanes from pseudorotaxanes, contributing to this interesting study on light-induced energy transfer of nanohoops in rotaxane systems with fullerenes and porphyrins! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/an…

Just out in Angewandte Chemie: in elaborate [2]rotaxanes, we found that nanohoops suppress through-space charge transfer😮, which would explain some mysterious OPV results (e.g. by Pingwu Du). A tour de force study by Fabian Schwer, Guldi_Group, et al. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.100…

Thrilled to hear that the German Research foundation funded my proposal "Elucidating the Fragmentation Pathways of Glycans for Clinical Glycomics"! Looking forward to pursue gas-phase glycoscience as a Walther-Benjamin fellow at FU Berlin, mentored by pagelgroup .

Great to share our new book chapter on advanced mass spectrometry methods for glycan characterisation, published in the Handbook of Experimental Pharmacology! Many thanks to co-first author Caitlin Walton-Doyle, Eleonora Renzi, Mathew Bejoy and Kevin Pagel! link.springer.com/chapter/10.100…
