Have a look at a new preprint, where we compare fiber photometry to microdialysis within the same animals. We test it on dopamine in amphetamine-injected mice. Turns out the methods match up very well, although fiber photometry shows much less variance! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

For all the dopamine people: Our new study on striatal dopamine dynamics is now on bioRxiv. Using dLight1.3b and machine learning we show how vastly different dopamine dynamics in the dorsal and ventral striatum jointly encode behavioral sequences during unconstrained activity🧠

Dopamine measured with microdialysis and photometry correlate well during an amphetamine response. The rapid dynamics pre-injection may also predict future drug response. This and more in our newest work made with H. Lundbeck published in ACSChemNeurosci! doi.org/10.1021/acsche…

Some of us are attending the amazing 6th World Parkinson Congress 2023 in Barcelona ! ☀️💃 Come discuss and visit poster LBP08.08 to learn more about our recent work on how specific mutations of the dopamine transporter translate to a parkinsonian-like phenotype! #wpc2023

If dopamine dynamics interest you, we just posted our modelling work on regional differences in the striatum on bioRxiv: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… The model is based on experimentally determined parameters and predicts a range of interesting results! A short 🧵. (1/7)

YAY! Our paper showing insertion of the fluorescent non-canonical amino acid Anap into SERT is out. We directly measure binding of ions, inhibitors and substrates, and estimate on- and off-rates. Grateful to Novo Nordisk Foundation, DK Frie Forsk.fond & Carlsbergfondet. rdcu.be/dYkKR

The macrophages that pretend to be a neuron 🤣🤣🤣take a look at our study published in Nature and see how macrophage exert ms modulation of sensation and action via glutamate. Fantastic collaboration with digiovannilab @LabPerrier nature.com/articles/s4158…
