The project CHORYS will be funded by the EU Horizon framework! For the next four years we will seek to rethink network and storage stacks for data-intensive applications in the cloud! I will be looking for PhD students and researchers to join the effort!

Had an amazing time presenting our work on a smart cache for a SmartNIC at #HotChips (Hot Chips). It was awesome getting feedback from Patrick Bosshart, a key figure behind Barefoot, P4, & Tofino. Huge thanks to my collaborators Ben Pfaff @benpfaff.bsky.social @[email protected], Gianni Antichi, and Muhammad Shahbaz!

NetGSR got into CoNEXT! We show that it is possible to reconstruct the fine-grained behavior of network data from samples with generative super resolution. This work is in collaboration with folks at University of Edinburgh!

"F3: Fast and Flexible Network Telemetry with an FPGA coprocessor" got into ACM CoNEXT! We show how an FPGA placed alongside the switching ASIC enables flexible network monitoring through partial reconfiguration! Work with folks at Harvard, Alibaba, UCL, Purdue and Meta.

"Incremental Specialization of Network Programs" got into ACM HotNets!! We make the case for building incremental compilers to quickly check if any changes in control-plane configuration affect program's implementation and only that trigger specific program optimizations!

"Application-Defined Coflow Processor" got into ACM HotNets. We make the case for a new programmable switching architecture that see (and process) network data as a set of coordinated flows (coflow) not just as packets or flows!

Exciting news: 2025 is an odd number, which means it is a year with HotOS. The 2025 edition will be held at Banff (in Canada) in mid-May. The CFP is now out at sigops.org/s/conferences/…, papers are due on January 15th. Please submit your most fun systems idea.
