Lobbyists' worst nightmare: 4 minutes of Energy Secretary Chris Wright telling Congress why solar and wind subsidies must be terminated ASAP.

Pouya is my very dear friend, and a hero. Like a modern Frederick Douglass, he courageously escaped an evil state and is doing everything he can to help others escape too. Please consider donating so his friends can go to school in Malaysia and not get deported to Iran.

This is very impressive. You’d have to catch up on the second project, and I don’t know if I can guarantee a job yet, but do you want to join us in Austin? I’ll buy you a ticket and reserve an apartment for you.

The top 5 ways the Senate can further cut the IRA subsidies and save > $100 billion 1. Stop solar/wind companies from getting 50% or more of their project costs subsidized: Cut the ITC (48E) to its pre-IRA 10% level of project cost (no bonus subsidies) and stop offering the ~66%

Follow this thread for my live commentary on the Senate's Vote-a-rama Will Senate amendments cut more of the toxic IRA subsidies? Or will they destroy the bill's #1 energy virtue: the termination of grid-destroying solar/wind subsidies using "placed in service" language? 👇

In the past the subsidy game has been dominated by subsidy-seekers, because subsidy-seekers have the motivation to take a lot of other people's money. Unfortunately for subsidy-seekers, my desire to establish energy freedom is far stronger than even your desire for my money.

Alex Epstein (@alexepstein) 's Twitter Profile Photo

This didn’t get fixed. :-( A lot of Congressmen fought hard to fix it, but in the end they decided the current bill was the best politically possible subsidy reduction for now. (It’s obviously better than the IRA.) So many lessons from this experience. I’m just getting started.

Absolutely support amnesty for the hardworking, otherwise law-abiding migrant workers. Round up and deport the criminals. We must acknowledge the critical contribution migrants make to our nation’s economy.

Disappointed that Marc Andreessen lumps competition from foreign students earning placement at US universities together with DEI-based affirmative action. There is a world of difference between the two. An American student not getting into a top university because of

Matt Walsh It’s a fair question—why should a family in Ohio be forced to pay for someone else’s healthcare across the globe? Now apply that principle consistently. Why should a family in Ohio be forced to subsidize farmers in Iowa, oil companies in Texas, or public schools that teach

Doesn’t it violate some rule of ethics to knowingly repeat lies about Haitians eating cats without showing any evidence? Will the people who have bought into every nativist lie against immigrants show an ounce of skepticism before buying into the next bizarre story?

FeelsGuy Watching this debate, I found myself torn. On one hand, Mehdi Hasan was cowardly, picking one of the easiest targets the far right has to offer, and he deserves criticism for that. But on the other, he should be credited for putting a spotlight on just how unhinged and hollow

The emotional side of me loves Monumental Labs more than almost any other startup. Many people criticize robots that help create art because it "deprives these creations of their souls". But they aren't grasping what creating abundant beauty in this world can do for societies.

It’s always advisable to try to understand someone’s argument before trashing them. Especially if that someone is Chris Wright, who knows a lot about energy. Wright’s point is that only 20% of global energy use today is electricity, and solar panels just generate electricity.

I see many are shocked to see others celebrating or rationalizing Kirk's assassination. I'm unfortunately not surprised to see it. This is the same evil, rotten mentality that cheered the assassination of Brian Thompson, the CEO of UHC, and that all but beatified Luigi Mangione.

Absolutely disgraceful how the 47th administration handled this situation. A quick, respectful phone call to our South Korean partners would have avoided all this ugliness. If they did this to Americans in South Korea, we would be appalled. Do better.

My debut for The Telegraph: the H-1B fee makes an already draconian visa process even worse— it sends the message that talented foreign workers are not welcome, and further limits American businesses' freedom to hire. telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/10/0…
