Throughout our history, DOGAMI has provided invaluable leadership in the scientific understanding of not only our state’s natural geological resources, but its geologic hazards.

We are personally indebted to the current science staff of DOGAMI for their many contributions to our public outreach in critical areas related to geology and earthquake preparedness.

We would urge [Governor Brown] to do whatever possible to keep this important and highly-qualified state agency [DOGAMI] functioning and healthy in the future. We cannot afford to lose this vital state resource!"

“The average recurrence is every 234 years. With the last major event placed at 315 years ago, we’re due.” This is why we MUST pass SB1567 bit.ly/3rLOwD2 this session. 90% of Oregon’s incoming fuel is stored in one place beside the River. On soil that will liquefy.

The Geological Society of the Oregon Country voted unanimously this morning to request that Governor Kotek restore the position of State Seismic Resilience Officer. Earthquake preparedness is vital to the state of Oregon.

Oregon's State Resilience Officer position needs to remain focused on the business of seismic resilience. We were the first state to have a State Resilience Officer in 2015, a position widely supported by the public, engineers, emergency managers, etc. Tina Kotek
