I don’t find it awkward to wear a mask anywhere anymore. It more feels now the way that doing gentle, emotion-focused parenting in public feels: When certain folks think you’re nuts, you know you’re doing it right. Model on.

N95 and KN95 masks were found to be 48% more effective than surgical or cloth masks, according to a CDC study. Wearing an N95 or KN95 mask reduces the odds of testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 by 83%.

Another thing I wish everybody knew: disabled people do not have any more support systems than anybody else. Often less. Disability or illness acquisition reveals who really loves you. If you're not there yet, it might not be who you think.

There’s a stereotype that autistic people are not interested in other people, however so many autists spend years studying psychology and sociology through courses, articles, books and videos just to learn more about other people and how to connect with them.

Autistic people, especially autistic children, may take instructions so literally that they might not realise that instructions come with terms and conditions. For example, they might not know they don’t have to push on through pain if they are told to do something and it hurts.

Hello friends, it is I Deacon Sara. I have accidentally locked myself out of my account and temporarily am setting up shop here. Hopefully I can eventually access my og account again because I’d hate to lose long time mutuals and friends. Executive Dysfunction 1, Sara 0. 😅

People tell autistics, "why don't you ever come to the social gatherings? We invite you, we want to see you." But in reality they want you to go and mask, they want you to go and socialize like a neurotypical.

A friendly reminder that no one pretends to be #ActuallyAutistic for attention, for social media likes, to be trendy, to be cool. It shouldn’t need to be said, but apparently it does. No one chooses to be autistic. We simply are. It’s not a “lifestyle” choice.

I once again maintain that the Biden administration really should’ve gone for the entire elimination of student debt and now we might not even get 10k. 🤷

This. I am well aware of how devastating post viral sequelae could be for my own health let alone other’s and I’m not willing to risk it.

To be clear: rate limits are inherently ableist. Disabled people, particularly those of us who are high-risk, have already been aggressively excluded from irl society. We, quite literally, have nowhere else to go for community, reliable news, etc. We can’t afford verification.

Well, I can't functionally contact Twitter Support to unbrick my main account because apparently Twitter no longer responds to emails or DMs so I have no idea how to contact anyone to get help.
