We posted a preprint, "Mitochondrial DNA mosaicism in human normal somatic cells" shorturl.at/frLR7. We observed ~3 mtDNA mutations/cell, (2) the rate of new mutation acquisition over a lifetime, and (3) levels of heteroplasmies carried by the fertilized eggs. (Jisong An)
