It has been a very hot summer in New York, but overall, the grid has held up. The past two days, the New York ISO issued Energy Watches as temps reached the mid-90s across the state. The lights have remained on and New Yorkers have been able to keep cool throughout the summer.

Not sure Albany/NYC folks recognize how remarkable this is. The NYISO goes to extreme steps to implement, not influence, NY energy policy. For them to be sounding the alarm (after NYC's close call in June) and calling for new gas-fired power plants is a big deal.
