I’ve been going through a roller coaster of emotions since successfully defending my PhD earlier this month. It’s bittersweet finishing graduate school and leaving such an incredible community within Cornell BME and @vdM_Lab, but I’m excited for the next chapter!

1/2. I am thrilled that I'll start my dream job at UCSD Bioengineering UC San Diego Bioengineering, UCSD Engineering + NIH Common Fund FIRST faculty. Grateful for Samir Mitragotri and the Chaudhuri lab's unwavering support. Hiring at all levels! #Viscoelasticity #Biomaterials #Mechanoimmunology #CellDynamics

Thank you to Lammerding Lab and Fischbach Lab bakers and everyone else who made the fundraiser our most successful year yet! We raised over $1100 for Cancer Resource Ctr. Make sure to check out all the amazing work the CRC does at crcfl.net

If you're going to be at the Biomedical Engineering Society meeting come check out my last talk as a PhD candidate! 👀

I love the Biomedical Engineering Society community so much - year after year the people & science bring me so much joy, reconnecting with old friends & making new ones #BMES2024. Also !!! it was wonderful to be able to present our new Gordana Vunjak-Novakovic work out now in PNASNews pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

Feeling extremely grateful to have completed my PhD with so much support from Cornell BME, Fischbach Lab, and my fantastic advisor. I can't imagine the past six years anywhere else. Excited to see what is next! #PhDone

Preprint alert! Excited to share our new manuscript from Cornell BME Garrett Beeghly, PhD examining how the size of fat cells, or adipocytes, impacts breast cancer risk. We found that larger adipocytes promote aggressive behavior in tumor cells. 1/5 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
